WHAT I WILL PROVIDE

FREE CONSULTATION

2 PRENATAL VISITS

I would love to meet with you and your partner (if applicable), to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. This is your opportunity to ask questions and find out more about me and the support I will provide. If you are unsure of what to ask, here is a link to doula interview questions
This is our time to get to know each other and fine tune your birthing plan. We will also complete our service agreement and make sure we share contact and any other important information. I'm happy to bring my "tool bag" and demonstrate or practice any comfort measures we might use during labor.

FEES

PREGANANCY & LABOR INFORMATION

$500 fee covers everything noted under services.

A $250 deposit is required at the time we sign a contract, the remainder due by two weeks before your estimated delivery date.

I am happy to discuss other arrangements, if your financial situation does not fit this fee schedule.
I have a constantly growing library (online and hard copy) of pregnancy, nutrition and labor information which I am happy to lend. During our first prenatal visit, I will provide a binder with tidbits I find helpful with room for you to add your own information.

DURING LABOR

PHONE & EMAIL SUPPORT

Labor support that I will provide include:
  • Comfort measures: massage, aromatherapy, heat and cold, positioning
  • Help you to follow your birthing plan: I will help you advocate with medical staff and remind you of your wishes, if needed
  • Emotional support: fear causes tension and can slow labor. Affirmation of your hard work and ability to work through pain and uncertainty is my goal.
I will be available to answer questions, discuss plans, find resources or just lend an ear if you need to share your thoughts or concerns. Do not hesitate to reach out!

COMMUNITY RESOURCE LIST

BABY'S FIRST FEEDING SUPPORT

I have an ever-growing list of valuable resources that you may need during your pregnancy and for your family after birth. Resources include prenatal care, hospitals and birthing centers, fitness and massage, breastfeeding support, crisis resources, and more.
I absolutely support and encourage your choice to breastfeed and am prepared to help make this experience a successful one.

POSTPARTUM FOLLOW-UP VISIT

About a week following your birth, I will come to your home (at your convenience) to see how things are going. This is a great opportunity for us to circle up and debrief the experience. You may have questions or concerns about the birth, or simply need tell your story to someone who understands and will not judge.

WHAT I WILL NOT DO

PERFORM ANY CLINICAL TASKS

MAKE DECISIONS FOR YOU

SPEAK TO STAFF ON YOUR BEHALF

Your primary care provider and medical staff (doctor, midwife, nurses) will provide you with any medical care needed. This includes all exams, medications and procedures.
If you need validation on any decisions that you are faced with, I will discuss options with you as it relates to the birth plan that you have outlined and any pros and cons to any given procedure or medication.
It is extremely important that this birth remain your own. My role is one of support for you, not of representation for you. Your primary care provider and nurses need and expect to hear from you or your partner - not your doula.

PROJECT ANY OF MY OWN BELIEFS ON YOU

USE TECHNIQUES THAT YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH

Birthing is a very personal experience, unique to the laboring woman: her experiences, fears, belief systems, relationships and biological attributes
My goal is to provide you with as much relaxation and comfort possible, If you are not comfortable with anything that I suggest or offer, please feel at ease in saying NO. Together, we will discover what works for you.
